Hysteria, Rage, and the Cave

Hysteria, Rage, and the Cave

I remember as a little boy a reaction to an emergency, that appeared to be an aggressive action from and old Merrill's Marauder, mentally ill from WW2. We always back then thought about our dad as being able to be mean, if we pissed him off, because of the abuse he received from the war, causing him to be feared if he acted different when angered, or drunk. Something we don't fear today around the mentally ill, and very wrong, because our fear of them helps us, to respect them, to be able to survive being around them, by being able to know, when we could, cross the line, around them.

Today many get hurt by the mentally ill  because few know they are mentally ill or believe they are mentally ill, making it extremely hard to understand they are as fragile as most children, they are at there age. So treat them as being younger then they are to be safe from them. Those children, need to understand that age isn't what makes you vulnerable, to someone older, but if someone one is mentally ill, then you the child are older.

But with our learning cycle, we learn many different things about behavior, that others don't know some things learned from reading suspense, detective, or cowboy books; or from movies; the military, or war. The point is we all have a secret knowledge, others don't know we have, even the mentally ILL. The mentally ill have one advantage over those of us Normal people. They know they can easily lose control. Something even Drunks can't admit, or drug addicts, or anyone who doesn't know medicine. Like a computer we can have one circuit cut and nothing in that circuit will respond to anything. What circuit keeps us sane can be cut, and we will become insane.

Anyway, That old Marauder, in the 1950's was setting in his old chair staring at he ceiling, seeming to be far, far, away. Over the couch on the wall was a dear-head with Guns and a hunting knife, on the antlers, a very heavy load. On the couch jumping up and down was my little brother, in his own world also; When the dear-head let lose from the wall and fell on my brothers head causing a huge lump that just kept getting bigger and bigger. My dad leaped from his chair so fast, and grabbed his knife and pulled it from it sheath and lunged toward my brother with it, as my mother screamed, with us all thinking he had lost it and was attacking my brother. Then, He gently place the knife on the lump on his head and the swelling went down and down, until my brother stopped screaming, with my dad reaching behind his neck and gently lifting him up, and then My brother and dad started laughing.

My dad had learned something from the war and taught it to me that day as a boy. A knife blade always stays could unless heated, so it worked to take quickly down the swelling, it was an instinct that made it happen so quick. Then he had mom get Ice to put on it. A cold iron also works to stop the bleeding, with the cold steal and pressure on the wound. This I learned before the get of twelve. Already knowing before I entered the military.

We have to remember that there were a lot of old rules learned in the old days that, doctors have had to go back to today, when sent to a war, with no modern equipment and a mass in casualties.

Over the years I had to deal with Hysteria and Rage, so many times, something most don't even understand today, yet everyone should know how to deal with. Most importantly Law Enforcement. Hysteria is when someone see's, hears, or feel's like a flash of horror, and cause the mind to shut down leaving the person screaming, as they linger in another world within a nightmare world asleep. Some times a slap will wake them or more, if that doesn't work a cold grass of water will do the job, leaving them in your arms sobbing. Rage is hysteria in another form, the person is so outrages at someone or something they will strike out at anything in there way and again in a nightmare state and must be awakened, before they kill someone. So many are so aggressive that they end up killed by the police before the can be awakened. Police need to carry something that can shock the Raged into awakening, quickly. Water cannon are used on protesters, to back them up, but they are to big to have on hand quickly. They next best thing would be a Taser, or pepper spray.

It reminds me of our dogs getting hooked together because a female dog, tries to quit, before a male has knobs on the end, won't go down until all his sperm is released, so they get hooked together, until dad comes with a pail of water to poor it on them. It is the shock that releases the tension. We need to research and learn more from this lesson.

I remember a time when my dad was dying, my next to the oldest sisters were at my dads bedside, so I went with my wife, and spent the night with them. It was so gloomy, they were crying and my younger brother was trying to calm them down and I was in the bed and it got so bad I knew they would not be able to calm down without waking from there mood. So I got up, got a bucket of cold water laughing and splashed it in them all, yelling what are you going to do about it, laughing all along, and all at once my younger brother rand for a bucket of water as they all joined in, and we had a water fight right in Dads and moms kitchen. Then all at once in comes my aunt yelling at us and at me, in my underwear soaked, for allowing them to have the water fight. I took her into the other room and told her what was going on, and it was the only way I could think of to calm them down, or bring them out of it. The point is it worked. Sometimes to help another we have to do something insane.

But, sadly today, someone would most likely, be arrested for it, because few think today, that someone knows something more about survival then they do.

The was many times in combat when someone had to smack me back into reality, or I would remain in a daze, like dizzy stage, for a horrible sight of death, with human life scattered all around, like being given a shovel, and shoveling someone brains into a body bag, leaving a smell, you would avoid throughout life that would make you sick, like sardines if you smelled it. So I saw myself and other many times, fighting hysteria, and others fight to clear me of hysteria. It was a part of life we learned to live with.

Why is it so important for law enforcement to understand the power of hysteria? Many times what looks like spousal abuse is really someone defending themselves from a hysterical person or a person in a rage, and trying to keep them from harming them, the hysterical person, and others.

I am sure we all have heard stories of a little housewife attacking her husband because she in drunk rage and the husband tried holding her down to keep her calm and not hurt herself or anyone, and the husband got taken to jail for spousal abuse. This is called blind justice, because no one is able to research to find the truth. just because you are a little person, does not mean you are a fragile little girl. This is something given to us in the old ages, when we saw women as being so fragile that they needed protections from the stronger men. It is even something we don't want to let go of, even though most woman, are against it. They no longer want to be seen as fragile, they want to be a part of the Military, equal in every way as men.

But there are both men and women who don't want the entire equal rights for women, as even women are fighting to be seen as inferior to men, and shouldn't be forced to do what they normally don't want to, do as men are, and will to do.

There are many questions that men, and women have that no researcher, will deal with. Like should women be required to, fight a man toe to toe equally? In a war? At home? In defense of herself? If she give the first blow? There is till, the question should a man open a door for a woman? Once considered romantic, now a battle ground from, those who think so and those against it, and many women thinking it is an attack on men by Gay women. Then women who want abortions, and women who don't think they have a right to choose, many because of a religion, many from gay women against it, and many are men. Yet none of them want the research to be done, as to even when does life begin, going from a vegetarian numbing state, to a beast of burden state with no real understanding of death, to being born alive, then being born alive in a vegetarian state, to the childhood, nightmare. The best way to understand these things is to go back to the caveman days and learn what you would have to do to be able to go out on your own and live. In other words from a time before, the baby is born, not knowing where you will be, before you know how much danger that baby will be in when you go into labor, or when will it become the woman's fault if the baby dies in childbirth, like they wouldn't be able to choose where or when that baby is going to come out. Now of course the hysteria in this period of time is a tremendous danger to mom and the baby. Now comes a time when the baby can't eat without mommy, being there for him to eat, so if mommy is hurt by another animal of cavemen, is mommy at fault if the baby dies, These kinds of things in the old days were called acts of God, to make sure no one felt guilty about a loss, this is when real humanity comes into play, even an accident was considered an act of God or getting pregnant. Then the baby can't needs caring for more the wild animals because the were no diapers.

In the animal kingdom a mother will will kill her babies, if she feels she can't protect them or if she feels the baby is in danger and she can't stay and protect them. Female Lions will kill there babies if the alpha male dies, so she can start with a new pure batch of babies.

So researching with a caveman's view, makes think look more realistic when compared to today's standards, when making laws or inventing something.
